We now offer a choice of hiring a String Quartet or a String Trio or a String Duo.

For a typical wedding ceremony, we start playing music about a half hour before your ceremony starts as your guests start arriving.  We will play a special selection for the mothers and grandmothers to be seated,  music for the  bridesmaids to walk down the aisle and special music for the bride to walk down the aisle.  We can also play  music during the , for a unity candle lighting ceremony, communion, etc.  We will then play for the bride and groom to from the altar, and music as your guests are leaving.  We will work very closely with you helping you choose music that is perfect for you.  If there is music that you want that is not in our , we will do our best to find it for you.

There is very little difference in the sound of most of the professional string quartets that play weddings in the Philadelphia, South Jersey, Wilmington area.

What sets the Shrewsbury String Quartet apart from the others is how easy it is to work with us. One of the most frequent complaints that we hear from brides is how difficult it is to get in contact with our competition and that it takes an unreasonably long time for some them to answer emails or return phone calls.

We pride ourselves in answering emails and returning phone call immediately. If you do not hear back from us within a few hours, we probably did not get your message so please try again.

We have performed at several hundred weddings and are very familiar with the timing of the music. Some quartets may sound fine, but if they play at the wrong time or do not end the song at the proper time, can cause unnecessary stress for the bride.

There are some quartets that will not perform at a Catholic Mass without an organist. We are very familiar with Catholic masses and non-mass ceremonies. We are very comfortable with or without an organist.

We get many compliments on the way we sound and we hear from a lot of brides that they appreciate how easy we are to work with.

Travel Charges: 

Additional travel fees for travel more that 40 miles from Philadelphia. Up to 70 miles $100.00. Up to 100 miles $200.00. Over 100 miles please call us for pricing.

Outdoor Weddings:

We want to provide the best possible performance for your event. Outdoor ceremonies create more challenges for musicians.  We have to consider weather conditions and insects. Our instruments can be damaged by extreme temperatures or direct sunlight. We enjoy playing outside under many conditions, however what is acceptable for a guest for comfort is more difficult for musicians to deal with when trying to perform our best for your event. Please be considerate and provide a safe, comfortable location for us to perform.

If classical music was important in your loved one’s life, this is a special way to honor their memory.

We charge $675.00 for a quartet or $550.00 for a trio or $425.00 for a duo for a  service.  $675.00 for a quartet or $550.00 for a trio or $425.00 for a duo for the first hour of the viewing and $500.00 for each additional hour for a quartet or $375.00 for a trio or $250.00 for a duo.

Thank you for an amazing performance at our wedding ceremony on June 4, 2006 at The Church of the Incarnation.  To be honest with you guys, we were a little skeptical as to how you were going to pull everything together without even rehearsing with the singer and the priest.  But Wow...everything went smoothly.  It was perfect!  We didn't think there was a dry eye in the church after you guys were done with the Ave Maria.  Most importantly, when we were looking for vendors, aside from having experience in their venue, we wanted to work with nice people who weren't pushy and sneaky.
